I was born and raised in north east Pennsylvania. The town I lived in, Kresgeeville, was between Stroudsburg and Allentown, about an hour and a half north of Philadelphia. I attended Pleasant Valley School District for all of grade school and high school. Though I attended college in central Pennsylvania, home was always Kresgeeville. I lived in north east Pennsylvania up until my move to Florida for graduate school during the Summer of 2016.
My love of music began when I was only 3 years old when I picked up a pair of drum sticks for the very first time. Over the next few years the drums were my passion, especially when I joined the school band. I also explored playing the guitar and piano as well. In high school I participated in all of the music ensembles I could including marching band, jazz band, pep band, and chorus. I even started a rock band with some friends from school. After graduating high school the amount of time I had to play music decreased substantially. Though I had much less free time, I still found a moment here or there to practice the guitar a bit. Today I still play the guitar now and again. Though I don't have much time to play music, I still enjoy listening to it. I began collecting vinyl records a few years ago and still pick up a record every once in a while.
A newer interest of mine is Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. I started taking classes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Harrisburg BJJ during the senior year of my undergraduate education. After graduating I began taking classes during the summer at Zombie BJJ in Allentown, Pennsylvania. After moving, I started training at Swamp BJJ Academy in Gainesville, Florida where I currently attend classes. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been something I've really enjoyed in the short time I've been doing it, and I hope to continue training consistently. It's a great way to decompress after a long day in the lab.
